First off… please don’t take what I say seriously… just with a grain of salt, like with music. I do not have a professional degree in film, literature and television… Not at all…nada zilch degree. But I love movies books and tv shows, most especially if they capture my interest somehow. Despite the lack of degree on this area, I will still do this Korean drama review as a Tv show lover and a Korean drama lover…. On the cast, as a whole and in their roles, I thought that they did an awesome job and I felt for the characters they played. What first captured my interest in this Korean drama was the main cast! Most especially Rain, Lee Sun-bin and Lee Dong-gun. Rain as Detective Kang-soo is as always so awesome! Analytical and tough as nails! Lee Sun-bin as Sergeant Yoo Shi-hyun is as always exceptional! I loved her in the Korean Criminal Minds. She played her role well as someone who has a supernatural ability that can be a pro and a con, and she uses it to help people…and to prevent the crime before it occurs especially after a traumatic event that occurred in her past. Lee Dong-gun was also exceptional. Playing somehow, who lost so much and the moment he was manipulated… stained his hands with blood for supposedly the greater good…now lost on a dark path which will only lead to his death. And Jung Jin-young, Kang Shin-I, Lim Hwa-young and Lee Seung-joo all played their respective roles well. The cast was totally amazing!

The story begins with a sketch image of man with a tattoo floating died in the water. Then the scense changes to Rain’s character Kang Dong-soo on case at the docks, where he aim is capture a honcho involved in fraud and/or embezzlement. He catches the honcho and his men in the act forcing a man who needed money for his family and made get the exact tattoo as him to commit suicide, to make it seem like it was the honcho who committed the suicide. In the struggle between Kang Dong soo and the honcho’s men that is when Lee Sun-bin’s character Yoo Shi-hyun appears trying to prevent the forced man from continuing with the suicide. In the end the forced man survives but the honcho was killed accidently in a different location during a struggle with Dong-soo. Dong-soo goes to look for Yoo Shi-hyun who at that moment was in a trance sketching five images, the last one of a man crying while holding a woman wearing an engraved ring and a signage hanging above them. Dong-soo didn’t find her but her finds her sketch book and looks through and studies each one especially the last sketch with the man and the woman. Dong-soo meets up with his Prosecutor fiancé who scolds him for endangering himself again and makes him promise her that when they marry that he will take a desk job, she also give him a ring matching her own ring, both engraved with their initials. The ring shocks him cause it looks like the one in the sketch, but he brushes it off but kept in mind till he sees Yoo Shi-hyun the following day, since she really looked for him to get her sketch book back. He confronts her about the sketch book, and questions about the ring, cause he only it the previous night after seeing the sketch book. She brings him to the office of the Butterfly Project team. Thus, learning her ability and the Butterfly projects purpose and learns that the last image means that his fiancé will die in three days. He doesn’t want to believe at first but he became extra cautious with his fiancé ‘s safety and decided to word with the Butterfly Project team. Thus, this is the true start of all the happenings in the story…

Moving on now to my actual review which is honestly will be much shorter than the recap of the beginning of the story and mentions of the characters…

But anyways…

The main plot of Sketch revolves around the partnership of an ace detective and a female detective who can sketch out what will happen three days in the future as they try to capture a serial killer. I honestly thought the storyline was interesting and very captivating. Not really sure if there were any plot holes but I truly believe that the writers of Sketch did any amazing job. I really enjoyed it and I totally felt the presence and feelings of the characters, and I like how each character has a deeper story or background to them. And I like how that although there were small cases that they had to solve besides a much larger threat they have to deal with and solve in relation to the serial killer they are trying their best to capture. What was also interesting was how in a sense all the characters were somewhat manipulated including Yoo Shi-hyun’s ability in the 1st couple episodes of drama by someone with a much stronger “ability”. Will not expound anymore so you guys if you interested can definitely check this show out!

Anyways…

Thank you @Viki for adding this to series to your lineup! This an awesome show, in my opinion 💗🤗💗
